Whisky Club 2 - The Women Behind the Whisky

For centuries, whisky has been seen as a man’s domain—but its true history tells a different story. From

the earliest days of distilling, women were deeply involved in creating, refining, and running whisky
operations, often working behind the scenes or without recognition.

This tasting explores the powerful and often overlooked role women have played in shaping the whisky
world. From pioneering figures like Helen and Elizabeth Cumming—who built Cardhu into a lasting
legacy—to influential leaders such as Bessie Williamson at Laphroaig, women have driven innovation,
craftsmanship, and business success across generations.

Join us for an evening that blends exceptional whisky with compelling stories—highlighting the
resilience, ingenuity, and lasting impact of women who helped define the spirit we enjoy today.
