League Types
- Social League: A recreational adult league (ages 16+) offering a relaxed, less-competitive atmosphere. Perfect for all skill levels and focusing on the fun, social side of the game.
- House League: An individual-entry league open to all experience levels. Teams are balanced and created by the league convener. Great for consistency and friendly club competition.
- Tag League: Ultimate flexibility! Teams are created on the spot each day from whoever shows up. Great for making friends and playing different positions.
- Flight League: A tiered, competitive structure where teams are grouped and play against others of a similar skill level.
- Open League: A league open to any combination of genders and skill levels on a team.
Registration & Team Entry Formats
- Individual Entry: You sign up on your own and the club places you on a team.
- Team Entry: You must register as part of a full, pre-formed team. This is typically for curlers with past experience.
- Free Agent: An experienced individual curler who wants to play in a Team Entry league but doesn't have a team yet. You can add your name to the "Free Agent Listing" in your member profile to advertise your availability to teams looking for players.
Attendance & Attendance Roles
Attendance Rule: For House, Individual Entry, and Team Entry leagues, if you are going to be absent, you are required to find a replacement player to cover your shift.
- Spare (or Sub): A replacement player who plays in your spot when you are absent. You can easily find available subs on the official Spare List for your specific league.
- Note: As a member, you can also add your own name to other leagues' spare lists if you want extra ice time!
- No Spares Needed (Tag Leagues): Because teams are drawn fresh every day from whoever is in the lounge, you do not need to find a spare if you miss a Tag League day.
Game Variants
- Doubles: A faster-paced curling game played with teams of only two players. Games are typically completed in a 1.5-hour time slot.
- Triples: An engaging game variant played with teams of three players. Games are typically completed in a 1.5-hour time slot.
- 4-Person: Traditional format with two teams of four players completed in 2 hours or less.
