A member's seasonal fee comprises two components.

The first component is based on the type of membership:

• $205 for those who participate in any of YCC's Adult leagues including Daytime Seniors-Full Year  (referred to as the "Club Fee");
  • Club Fee increases to $235 effective August 31, 2020
  • a $50 levy is also added that is dedicated to a Capital Fund
• $105 for those Adult league Intermediate members (individuals under 30 years of age) who participate in any of YCC's adult leagues. 
  • a $50 levy is also added that is dedicated to a Capital Fund
• $125 for half-season daytime Seniors, October to  December or January to April
• $150 for Open Flex League - no capital fee or additional league fees
• $355 for those who seek only a sparing membership
• $  50 for those who seek only social membership privileges
• $120 for those who seek only practice-ice privileges
• $  55 for those who seek only an OCA designation

The second component is a league-specific fee for participation in each of the various leagues in which a member is registered.  The amount of this fee varies by league -- from as low as $75 for the Seniors League to as much as $210 for Evening Leagues.

York Curling Club offers a variety of membership categories to provide its members with a flexible and affordable dues schedule consistent with the operating needs of the club.  Our membership categories are outlined in a separate webpage titled "Types of Membership".

York Curling Club is a member of the Ontario Curling Association, and it pays dues to the OCA to be a member club of the OCA.  Any member who registers to compete in an OCA event, is required to pay an OCA competitors fee which is no longer included in your membership fees.

As part of the application process, all members of York Curling Club agree to certain terms and conditions.  Among them, each member:

• consents to YCC's sharing of their contact information with the club's other members;
• commits to not misuse the contact information they receive regarding other members; and,
• releases and saves harmless the York Curling Club from certain claims arising out of participation as a member or volunteer.

Senior / Adult league Participant - Full Year

This type of membership is for those who wish to participate in senior and/or adult league play (that is, in any league other than Juniors and Little Rocks).  Members who are league participants are entitled to use club facilities, to book practice ice and (provided they have attained age 18) to vote at any meeting of YCC's membership.

**NEW** Intermediate Adult League Participant - Full Year

This membership type is to encourage young adults 30 years or under (born in 1991 or after) to parcipate in YCC adult league play (that is in any league other than Junior and Little Rocks), or who wish to participate in both an adult league and a youth league.  Intermediate members are entitled to use club facilities, to book practice ice and (provided they have attained age 18) to vote at any meeting of YCC's membership.

Daytime Seniors - Half Year

For those wishing to play in the Daytime Seniors "tag" league only for the period October to December or January to April.  Any member selecting this option will be wait-listed until September 1 and then placed into their selection of time slots, if spots are available. Also allows member to play in the year-end Senior's Closing Bonspiel.

Youth League Participant

This type of membership is for those who wish to participate in only a youth league (namely, Juniors or Little Rocks) and is reserved for those under age 21 (specifically for the 2020-2021 season those born after June 30, 2000). Members who are league participants are entitled to use club facilities, to book practice ice and (provided they have attained age 18) to vote at any meeting of YCC's membership.  

Sparing Member

Adults may choose a spare only membership covering all leagues. It is their responsibility to ensure they add their name to the "My Subbing Availability" list.

Open Flex Member

Adult members who do not have time to commit to a weekly schedule may choose the Open Flex Membership, allowing them to curl in 5 games for which you register from 10 available game times through the season.  This membership will allow you to spare in the Sunday Night Development League.

Social Member

Social Members are entitled to use club facilities and their on-ice privileges are limited to in-club bonspiel events only. Social Members who are former shareholders are entitled to vote at any meeting of YCC's membership, whereas other Social Members are not entitled to vote at any meeting of YCC's membership.

Practice Ice Only

Those in this membership category have the same entitlements as Social Members, except they also have on-ice privileges for occasional practice purposes. Practice ice must be booked in advance with the club manager during designated times.

OCA Designated Member

Those in this membership category will be registered with the OCA to be eligible to participate in competitive events as a representative of York Curling Club.  No on ice priviliges are included with this membership.

Other Membership Categories

Honourary Social Member: Upon application for social membership by a former YCC shareholder, honourary social membership status is conferred upon the applicant. The Board may also do so for any person who has rendered noteworthy service to the club.
