In February 2013 Lindsay Davies created a magnificent mural that's mounted over our bar. The mural is titled "Famous Canadian Curlers".
"Many wonderful volunteers at our Club ( John, Jack and JoAnn to name a few ) built a beautiful new bar for us and there was overhead space that I thought was just begging to be filled with something unique to set it off.
I had painted a mural in the entrance to our Curling Club several years earlier that was unfortunately lost because of our expansion and I had been looking for a spot to do another mural and there it was.
Because of the dimensions of the space and my preference for painting people I decided to paint life size head and shoulder shots of our Great Game’s most notable players for inspiration for our members.
The bar is where we all meet and greet and I think it inspires conversation and creates a warm environment for people to socialize. I hope it puts a smile on everyone’s face that stops to have a look."
